Sadaqah al-Fitr
Sadaqah al-Fitr (also known as Zakah al-Fitr or Fitrana)
Sadaqah al-Fitr is a mandatory charity that is given at the end of Ramadan before the Eid al-Fitr prayers. It is intended to purify the fasts of the fasting individual and to provide for those in need, ensuring they too can celebrate Eid with joy and dignity.
Each eligible Muslim is required to pay Sadaqah al-Fitr on behalf of themselves and all their dependents, including children, spouses, and any others who are financially dependent on them. This includes all members of the household, regardless of their age or financial status.
The amount for Sadaqah al-Fitr is typically set at £5.50 per person, whether young or old, rich or poor. However, it is encouraged to give more than the minimum amount if one is able, in order to maximize the reward and benefit for those in need.
Your generosity will not only purify your fast but also bring joy to families who are struggling during this blessed time. Please make sure to contribute before Eid so those in need can benefit from this vital assistance.
Please make sure to tick the box to cover the admin costs, to ensure the full amount is sent to the intended recipients.
